Myristic acid is also called myristanoic acid. It is a white crystalline or leaf-shaped waxy solid. It has a faint waxy and milky aroma. Myristic acid is found naturally in fish oil, coconut oil, babassu oil and cottonseed oil. Myristic acid is produced by fractionation of fatty acids from palm kernel oil.
